Parents charged after infant left in car

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Two parents have been charged with child abuse and neglect after their 5-month-old infant was found in a car while they were at a bar.
Police said Marleny Martinez-Amaya, 20, and Enrique Ramirez, 28, both of Dickson are jailed with bond set at $5,000 each.
Officers said the infant was found crying in a car with the windows rolled up and doors locked in a parking lot of a bar at 2:20 a.m. Sunday.
Police the infant had been in the car for more than three hours. The infant was placed in state custody.
Just last week, Courtni Lee Nichols of Palmyra was charged with murder after her baby was left in a car while she went to a Clarksville lounge. The child was pronounced dead at a hospital.
