Teen to be tried as adult in officer's shooting

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ A Juvenile Court judge in Knoxville has moved the trial of a teenage boy to adult court for a burglary in which a police officer was wounded.
Seventeen-year-old Tony Dixon is charged with especially aggravated burglary.
Police charged Dixon and two men in a May 20 crime in which Officer Norman Rickman was shot several times as he responded to a burglary call.
Rickman was released from a hospital in early June.
Also charged are 26-year-old Cleven Johnson and 32-year-old James William Murry.
Dixon gave police a statement after they connected him to a cell phone dropped at the house where Rickman was shot.
