Fleet Feet Sports Murfreesboro will host No Boundaries, a 5K training program for beginning runners to prepare for their first 5K (3.1 miles), during the month of April.
The 12-week program, which is designed to help participants get in shape and discover the numerous benefits of cardiovascular exercise, will provide participants with a number of benefits, including coached training sessions and informational clinics that cover proper footwear, injury prevention and nutrition.
Sponsored by both Fleet Feet and New Balance, the No Boundaries event will be coached by Matt Gooch, a student assistant track coach at MTSU, and Dwight Bond of the YMCA.
Fleet Feet and New Balance representatives encourage those with a desire to get active to sign up for the program.
Everyone needs to be active and exercise-it keeps you healthy and makes you look and feel good, said Natalie Tate, an employee at Fleet Feet.
An informational meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at the local store. The first group workout will be Tuesday, April 29, at the store. The final event of the program will be the Fenton Payne and Fred 5K in Murfreesboro.
The program fee is $75 dollars and includes the race registration fee. To register online, please access www.active.com or visit the store at 544 Thompson Lane, Suite C.
Fleet Feet Murfreesboro is open 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and 1-5 p.m. Sundays. For more information, please call 615-494-3141.
