The Alpha Tau Omega fraternity completed its annual community service project of painting lightning bolts on campus Wednesday. The project took three days and 50 working hours to complete.
The work was done by 20 ATO brothers on Raider Walk, the sidewalk alongside Faulkinberry Drive and next to the Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium and Alumni Memorial Gym.
"The painting of the lightning bolts doesn't just signify a simple community service project," said Chris Hardman, ATO's recruitment chair, in a press release. "It signifies the Blue Raider pride that we have as a chapter and how we want to spread that pride to the MTSU community."
President Sidney McPhee noticed some ATO brothers working on the project and personally thanked them for their efforts.
ATO also plans to paint the lightning bolts black for the Blue Raiders football team's blackout game against the Troy University Trojans on Oct. 5, Izaguirre said.
"It's going to prepare campus for an awesome blackout game," Isaguirre said.
