Get amped this Halloween by learning some of the darkest and creepiest secrets about Murfreesboro including Thankful Taylor, The Human Fly and the Three Sisters.

This Friday the BoroTellers presents Haunted Murfreesboro, a storytelling tour based upon Murfreesboro’s legends, lore, true crime, weird tales and eccentric characters.

The tour is $5 and will run on 15-minute increments between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at The Vine, located at 118 Vine Street.

The tour starts at the Civic Plaza and goes up Maple towards the Historic Square. Around the Square you will hear legends and stories that expose the dark side of Murfreesboro.

The tour continues down Main onto Maney then comes back up Vine.

President and founder of the BoroTellers, Diana Hague, is one of the five tellers who will be at the event.

“We hope people get out of it is a little sense of history in the town, maybe a better appreciation for it to know that it indeed has a past and has had it's own eccentric characters and eccentricities and hopefully they get a great sense of fun,” Hague said.

Other members of the MTSU community will be a part of the tours and storytelling.

Each storyteller chooses where he or she wants to stop and what stories they want to tell.

All the stories come from talking to individuals and doing research, including in old obituaries.
