Sorensen’s UN speech canceled
The speech featuring United Nations Foundation Senior Advisor Gillian Sorensen has been canceled.
Whitney Flatt, president of the MTSU U.N. Student Alliance said Sunday that the threat of Hurricane Sandy on New York City kept Sorensen from reaching Nashville.
Flat said the group would look into rescheduling Sorensen’s speech for another time — likely next semester.
Sorensen was to address an audience in the Student Union ballroom Monday night on the relationship between the U.S. and the U.N.
She also had scheduled engagements at the United Nations Association board in Nashville and at Vanderbilt University.
